About Casey

I am a third-generation State Farm agent — insurance is quite literally our family business. After graduating from St. Olaf College in Northfield with a double major in Economics and Psychology and starting my career in financial services, I opened our Bloomington office in 2010 — and we have been at the same address ever since: 2626 E 82nd St, Ste 390, one block east of the Mall of America.

I became an agent to have an impact on our customers' lives. We work with our customers on the greatest days of their lives and the hardest days of their lives and everything in between. They call us when they buy a new house, have a baby, or get married. They call us when the house burns down and when someone dies. The impact comes from the conversations that happen in between.

A little more about me:

  • 🎓 St. Olaf College graduate — Economics and Psychology

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Husband to Kristin, who also works on our team, and dad of two

  • ⛷️ Ski racing coach with Team Afton at Afton Alps, and previously coached at Hyland Hills with Team Gilboa

  • 🎿 Board member with U.S. Ski and Snowboard, the national governing body for skiing and snowboarding

  • 🏆 Multiple-time Top 100 State Farm agency honoree, out of more than 18,000 nationwide

  • 🎖️ Legion of Honor and Bronze Tablet recipient

  • 📍 Minnesota native and lifelong Twin Cities resident

  • 🏒 Devoted Gophers, Vikings, Wild, and Wolves fan — like most of our office

Our office is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin and in every line of business State Farm provides — auto, home, condo, renters, life, health, pet, boat, recreational vehicles, and business insurance. Our team of 14 has more than 150 years of combined insurance experience and offers service in Spanish. We have been ranked among the Top 100 State Farm agencies in the country multiple times, out of more than 18,000 nationwide.

When you call a 1-800 number, you will rarely speak to the same person twice. Here, you will work with the same people for the life of your policy — an advocate in your corner who knows your name, your family, and your coverage. We service what we sell, and we sell what we service: one office for coverage questions, claims questions, and billing questions, with no handoffs.

We live here, we coach here, and we answer the phone here. Whether you are adding a teen driver, comparing renters coverage, reviewing a roof after a storm, or figuring out how much life insurance your family needs, we start by listening and go from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does auto insurance cover hitting a deer in Minnesota? A deer strike is generally handled under comprehensive auto coverage rather than collision coverage. Deer movement increases in the fall, especially around dusk, so drivers on roads near the Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge and Old Shakopee Road should stay alert. We can review how your current policy handles this type of loss.

What should I check on my home insurance before fall in Minnesota? September is a good time to review your roof coverage, basement protection, and water-related coverage before winter arrives. Bloomington has a lot of homes built in the 1950s through the 1970s, so older roofs, older sewer lines, and finished basements deserve particular attention. We can walk through the policy and explain what you have in plain English.

Is my roof covered for hail damage in Minnesota? Wind and hail are covered perils on many Minnesota homeowners policies, but the amount available after a covered loss can depend on whether the roof is insured at replacement cost or depreciated actual cash value. That distinction can matter significantly on an older Bloomington home, so it is worth knowing before the next storm.

Does renters insurance cover my belongings if I live in a Bloomington apartment? Renters insurance can help protect your belongings from covered losses such as theft or fire and can also provide liability coverage. With the growth of apartments around Bloomington and the Mall of America area, it is an important coverage conversation for renters who may otherwise have no protection for what they own.

What happens to my car insurance when my teenager starts driving? Adding a teen driver can make a noticeable difference to a family’s auto insurance cost, which is why we recommend planning for it before the birthday or permit date. Depending on eligibility, programs such as a good student discount and Drive Safe and Save may help offset some of the increase.

How much auto insurance do I need in Minnesota? Minnesota is a no-fault state, so drivers must carry liability coverage, personal injury protection, and uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. State minimums are only the legal floor, and the required property-damage limit may not be enough to protect you financially in a serious accident. We can explain the numbers and what each limit actually means.

Why did my homeowners insurance cost change? Minnesota experienced a major increase in home insurance costs in 2025 after significant hail losses across the state. A change does not necessarily mean it was caused by something you did. We can walk through what changed, explain the coverage behind the number, and check for available discounts.

What should I know about sewer and sump pump coverage if I have a finished basement? A finished basement can contain a lot of belongings, but sewer or sump backup may require a specific endorsement rather than being automatically included in every policy. Bloomington's older housing stock makes this an especially useful coverage question to review before heavy rain, snowmelt, or winter weather.

Do I need additional family protection if I already have coverage through work? Workplace coverage can be a helpful starting point, but the amount may not match your family's income, housing costs, and other responsibilities, and it may not continue if you change jobs. We start by reviewing what you already have and then look at the gap rather than assuming you need a particular amount.

What coverage should I review after having a baby or buying a home? A new baby or a new home can change the amount of financial protection your family needs. Those are exactly the moments when a policy review can make sense. We look at what you already have, what has changed, and whether your auto, home, renters, or family protection coverage still fits the next chapter.
